PHOTOGRAPHY IN PUBLIC PLACES

I think this is very important. (Street-)Photography is not a crime.

  1. I have tended to treat it as though it was not criminal, but recently have become more conscious of how people might look at me depending on the location. Common sense sometimes goes out of the window.

  2. That's why I am very glad the MetPolice did this. Very clear. We are only taking pictures - not stealing your soul, or worse!

  3. Unfortunately it's not the practice here. Read my experience in Denver (Security guard not police):

But the Police here are generally ignorant of the law in this regard. They actually can't object to photos unless you are photographing them.

  4. Yes, I had my problems in Florence, last year. The Carabinieri were "not amused", but (I sincerely hope they don't read this...) I had a great picture in the end. Let's be courageous but friendly!
