Of all the things I know
I understand almost nothing

Morning coffee

Not a spectacular photo, but Bob 0 (the 1916 Ernemann) is now fully functional. New paper mask (you see the whole negative) and new spool. The problem of holding the camera remains...

Love

He's a stranger, anxiously looking for "a doctor for the cat". (Tessar 3,5 75 as below)

Argus' last

Today, I FINALLY understood the Argus' focussing-problem - and then the shutter broke down. Murphy!

Contre-jour

Well, because I'm really "addicted to light", there is ànd will be a lot more contre-jour on this blog, and on my Flickr Photostream; more Sigma600 is, for instance, below: 22 July-post Gee-orgee-ow!
And on 22 July 2009 on that other blog: Sportzeichnung. Great lens!

It turns the wrong way of course, but at the moment I prefer it over the "easier" Canon 500 mirror - see post 16 January 2011.

Gaslight 2

17,000 Gas-lamps and I can't get it right. (Werra/axp100) Next week: filters on the Industar29!

Houghton-Butcher

E29 doesn't eat the film now, but it's not really sharp. Little picture: the Werra (see comments)

Curly problem

My Ensign E29 is a rather elegant blue box. Like the 30+ years younger Agfa Click it has an extra "portrait-lens", and sharpness would not be a problem if I could keep the Efke R100 127 film plane (the 129 film for this 2x3 imperial inch camera doesn't exist anymore). Back to kindergarten for some serious DIY.
PS June 2012 I got some 129 Agfa Wolfen 1955! So: Look above.

Düsseldorf mon amour

The Düsseldorf of my youth, the sixties: one big (after-war) building-site. Düsseldorf today: one big building-site.
But. The gull in the Königsallee, ein glas Sekt bei Bittner, Baumkuchen von Heinemann... And they still have gaslight! (George Cukor) Luckily I spoiled a film, so I must come back next week. With the Werra.

Lisboa on the Waal

Well, she hàs big problems with contre-jour ( I love that...) but look at this: 20% (upper-left) of the negative, fomapan100 in you know what. This is a ±1961 plastic camera that deserves respect.

Billy versus Click II: K.O.

Yes, it's sharp enough, the achromat on my Agfa Click II, especially with the extra "nearby lens" (little picture ±50%, the big one is ±30% of the negative).
But the sixties-achromat has no contrast at all! The 1930 Billy is so much better - glass versus plastic? (HP5 in Rodinal - I know, I know...)

The Werra, on APX100 this time.

Fair in the Rain

Famous Dutch movie in 1962. Also famous in these years: the "DDR-Zeiss" Werra. Little, superb camera. Memories; reflections. A dog; students in suits.

Werra 2E (±1966), "aus JENA" T 2,8 50mm, Fomapan 400 in Rodinal.

More Werra: February 2011.

Roaring Twenties

Yes, undoubtedly, but mostly ortho and would-be pan, so, in "nature": a filter. And no need to say what colour, yellow of course. Changed back-yard Cuyk into Canada, this morning.

Sunday morning

All is silent. Even his "good morning" is a whisper. The autumn sun is sharp as a knife. No problem though for my 1910 (!) No.2 Kodak Folding Pocket Brownie model B.
