Gut dass es Bittner gibt!

Because, on this birthday, everything looked so OLD...

Starbucks forever!

Aschermittwoch

After the carnival this flock of little angels get their ashes at St. Antoniuskirche in Oberkassel. Yes, as a child I wore that black cross on my forehead with pride!

ON WHÀT ?!

Shanghai GP3 100 with a tiny problem: the spool is, maybe 0.5mm, bigger: it doesn't fit in my Argoflex!
And (see small, one day later on my Zenit) not reliable.

Iron Curtain

I loaded a new set "Iron Curtain" on my flickr erwinruys fotostream. Made 30 or 40 years ago, with my Canons and (probably) the Soligor 350mm, Vivitar 70-210mm, Canon 1,4 50mm and maybe even a Komura 135mm or a 1,4x extender. I still have the Vivitar series1. The HP Scanjet added to that "soviet"-feeling...

Analogue

This one I made 40+ years ago with my little Retina II. The sick dove spent weeks sleeping on my Canon FTQL, and recovered! (see below)

(digital...)

Sorry - I couldn't resist this cross-over from my Maasproject.blogspot.com and birds are rather important to me, so...?

One Year Blogger

Next week is full of celebrations: Valentine, Carnival, Olympiad, Birthday, and ONE YEAR BLOGGER! Therefore a rather nostalgic photo from the seventies: a 2x3 mtr collage I made for Vroom & Dreesman. (Smalls: movie Maasproject and exposition sportsfotos Sportzeichnung)

Haps - sunday morning

Not very exciting, but I spent the best week of my life here - 55 years ago.

Talking head

1 Young talking head on 40+ FP4 in 60+ Target 616. (The 80+ 2A-C 116 (see below) is mùch better! I suspect the "extra" lens - to make it a double meniscus.)

120 film in 116 Brownie No.2A Model C

This is a very remarkable photograph. First: look at the quality of this 80+ box! But there's more: the sticky-paper of that very old FP3 tore the film, it didn't fit in a drum so I had to develop it the victorian way: Rodinal in the dish, left hand up, right hand down etc. 10 minutes in total darkness and look: no scratches!

For instructions on 120 to 116 and many other weird combinations see my Flickr Photostream set "120 film in..."
For the "darkroom struggles" I recommend the set "Old film in old cameras".

Pinhole

After a lost and forgotten Hit, the bakelite Lubitel was my first. I still have the cardboard box and it seemed appropriate to make that a pinhole-camera. (Small picture, the blue one)

About snow

February, I'm looking out of my window: it's coming down! Snow. So: discussion. My point: ask any Inuit, Saami, painter or Dutch driver - snow is not white. And worse: I don't àlways want it to be! Not in photographs. A photo, for ME, is a composition in light and dark, and if, by chance, the darker part is a lamp, and the lighter part is the asphalt street: that's OK for me! I only see the composition. Mondriaan.

Jeroen did use a Y 1,5 filter on his 12 cm Macro Planar; TXP 320 two stops over (for white snow) in Ilfotec. I had the mon-chou-cake and 2 espressos.
