HP3
Helsinki? St.Petersburg? Nijmegen NL! - on very ripe (40+ years) Ilford HP3. (Look at that lovely metal spool.) "Hypersensitive", with some background-fog, but not bad at all. 30+ Years old Hasselblad/Distagon 60mm still going strong and even I didn't slip.
You can get such fantastic detail with the lovely old 'Blad; a camera I have always lusted over but feel I will stick with 35mm. To go 6x6 I will need another scanner as well. Nice shots.
It's not luck - I simply don't mind trying, and throwing away the first 5 rolls (or more!). I enjoy táking pictures, not necessarely hàving a picture afterwards. As a musician, for me it's normal not having anything "after play". And John: listen to her!
I recently bought expired Kodak Tri-X in 220 format (24 on a roll) and it works fine, although not 40 years old! Silversalts are pretty stable, it's the sulphur in the emulsion that can ruin things, especially when the film was not stored refrigerated.

Dear John. Buy that scanner! Take your Rollei! Have fun! (said he, while eagerly awaiting his 35mm Kiev... :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI always avoid expired film, but yu have such great luck with it. I think that B&W holds up better too.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI second the motion on upgrading the scanner. Especially if you are blogging film user.

It's a conspiracy.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOnly for your good, John, only for your good. :)
