Then and Now 58
Yes, I knòw.
But still: there was beauty in those days that I don't see any more. The time, the scale.
With my 1910 Brownie, hours later developed in also pre WWI Eastman.

Sommer
Ich brauchte Sonne, Sommer, Eis.
Vecchio in der Altstadt also, und nach zwei Doppios hatte ich Energie für ein paar Schritte extra, also: nach Heerdt. Wo der Monolith mit sich machen lässt. (Kleines Bild: Oktober 2013.)
E Interesting film: sixties Imperiale S Pan, (Spanish, or Ilford FP3) with "built-in Y filter". In fourties Stierle MQ, the Brownie 2 on Kodak 4 (F22). At Kodak 3 the neg is "better" but I like this fog.

Comment on the old post card: "only one car!" Well, this morning there still was only one car, but what a difference...
And the "Groote Markt", most of the old buildings are there, but are they really those old buildings?
My 1928 Brownie is genuine, as is the Stierle developer from Marquette, at 5 cts moderately priced and still working (hard, because the modern Shanghai GP3 is, let's say: delicate...)

Well, I'm not particularly fond of the Piazza Santa Maria Novella; the sun seems always very bright (=hard), here. The church is okay, the Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica nearby is very interesting and of course an analogoholic hàs to visit the Museo Nazionale Alinari della Fotografia. Very nice.
I had Ideal Supremulsion (sixties) in the Brownie 2, exposed 4 secs to get an image. I still cannot give you a link (shame on you, Blogger!) so here is: www.alinarifondazione.it

1930 Attachment 1
I wanted to shoot some, well not macro but close-ups, 3 feet. So I did put the portrait attachment 1 on the Brownie 2. At the Lungarno Acciaiuoli.
And then the young Agfapan 25 caught me by surprise: back paper stuck!
Messy dish-developing, fog.
Minchia!

Magic... (1)
...ànd the friendliest way to get rid of at least 50% of the tourists:
6 seconds at Kodak 2 (± F 16) on modern FP4. In the 1930 Brownie.

And then there is the 1930 Red Brownie 2. You'll have to buy that extra "portrait attachment nr.1" but it is great! "The subject must be exactly 3,5 feet from the lens" (you know how severe miss Kodak can be...) and then it is very sharp. This is the camera I'll take on my holiday in stead of the Hasselblad and I am nòt joking!
