1949

On  my birthday only one camera can do the job: the 1949 metal Argoflex.
And the contemporary U.S.Zone miniREX II.

The weather was more than beautiful, the Rollei developer still did the job after 6 weeks and 16 films.

Imperiale S Pan, Made in Spain.
I think it's Ilford FP3 still going strong after 50 years in my 1949 Argoflex.
(And they used the name of a firm Ilford once bought.)

Nein - dieses Bild ist nicht von heute. Ja, das Wetter war schön: 14°, ich war da, Kusäng mit Frau war da, toll gegessen bei Poccino (fegato!), man ahnte schon Weihnachten aber zuhause, Brot von "brot und butter" mampfend stelle ich fest dass meine Werra gestreikt hat!
Alles klang perfekt, aber der Verschluss blieb zu. Ein Fummelfinger löste das Problem(s.o.).
Das schwungvolle Bild ist also von Oktober, Argoflex.

1949

The camera: Argoflex EF, the metal one, from 1949. I ripped the 620 cradle out and now use it (mostly) with 120 film.

But not today: Ansco Triple S pan, because it's also 1949 and still is fine! I cut one sheet to fit, it's curly and foggy but so am I.

The house: also changed over the years, but still the house were I was born. In 1949.

Düsseldorf international

Es ist 24° in Düsseldorf, also sitzen wir draussen. Alle - wo und wie auch immer.
Ich mach' mir eine serata italiana.
Dunque: bruschetta e pinot grigio sulla Königsallee. Spuntino perfetto al ristorante Buongiorno.
Poi la Johanneskirche. Non ero mai stato dentro, e non mi piace affatto.
Ma la coppa "after eight" con caffè Segafredo, il mio preferito, da Vecchio, è buona come sempre.

So: great Italian food in NRW Düsseldorf; in my American 1949 Argoflex was some Belgian 620 from the sixties, developed in 1976 Ucrainian Реактив.
