Yes, I did a lòt of "Then and Now", this year. Tested old film and flash-bulbs, endured (not always) an ill friend.
But I also did some nostalgic sight-seeing.
Found the place where, once upon a time, I had my caffè corretto in the morning.
Well, that was then, and now it's gone.

Next stop: Иркутск.
When comparing the "Then" images with the "Now" images, I noticed that quite a few of the old photographs seem to be taken from a high viewpoint, was it custom to bring a ladder while photographing? And yes, I know, some photographs were taken with a shifted lens for perspective control, but that is not what I mean.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAbout the next stop: 1920's russian timemachine????
Yes, a ladder was quite common, those days.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe twenties were very roaring in St. Peterburg, but I do have some Rodtschenkos and one from Agentur Bulla, so we'll see.
