4Daagse / 4 Days Marches Nijmegen

For our guests: enjoy the party, the puns (walkom) and the weather!

Feur de Nimwegeneure: steeds meer schermen en toegang betalen (cashfree). Moet dat nou?

Technique: very special! Not only old camera's, but also 1955 developer and fix from Russia - all working fine.

H&W CONTROL (4daagse 3)

Testing this Very Thin 1976 Emulsion behind the Very Sharp Linhof/Rodenstock in Very Fine Russian phenidone/hydroquinone. Okay: (Agfa-)backpaperfog. Very Nice weather, though.

4Daagse (2)

"In mijn ouwe Opel had ik altijd een hamer bij me" zeg ik. Zegt de man van de SuperSnipe "startmotor, zeker." Bij de oldtimers in Wijchen.
In de binnenstad feest als altijd, en mooi weer dit keer. Prima.

E In the Smena my last 1973 FP3, but this time developed in fine grain Russian and as I expected: no fog, nice, crisp and clear. How did they do that!

4 Days Marches Nijmegen

And I was absolutely fascinated by this canopy.

Still some FP3 in the half-frame Чайка-2, last drop of sixties Microphen.

4 Days Marches Чаика

Not really a test, the Olympus film was in Eastman VSOP, and this Chaika film in fresh seventies Реактив, so let's not compare, just say that the little 1970 Chaika is not bad at all! Better than expected - like the weather this week.

Pontoon-bridge 2012

Tradition: 4Days-thursday: the pontoon-bridge near Cuyk. Always interesting, this year again the weather was friendly (I love pontoon-bridges in the rain!) but so were the girls who served coffee and a cream-muffin (whàt?!)

On my old ФЕД-2 was a younger Industar, I put the 1973 Ilford fearlessly in seventies Реактив.

Vierdaagse

First: the weather is not as bad as predicted. Second: this is the last film in the centenarian. Lasted almost six weeks, several films and what you see here is half frame (and 1973 Ilford) so chapeau, uncle Eastman!

My ± 1973 Olympus Pen only does 1/30 at F22 but I don't mind.

Be Unstoppable

4-Days Marches in Nijmegen, and the weather is sàd. Let's just hope for the best...

The Eastman centenarian I prepared over one month ago still works, but it's getting tired as you see.

In the ± 1970 half-frame Чаика II was 1973 Ilford FP.

The students? Give them a bottle of beer and they won't mind rain nor rubbish...
And walk, walk, walk.

ANALOGUE!

4DaysMarches in Nijmegen next week. It will rain, but today is great. And look at the girls, working with fujiFILM as if the digital revolution never happened! No phonepics, no partyprinter, and everybody is enjoying it.

With my 1945 Elmar on RolRet100 ( mostly 1/40 to avoid the shutter-problem, a real challenge for this caffeine-addict: never a lungo, always a doppio )

Pontoon-bridge

Last year it was raining só heavily, I had to take my 1980 Nikonos - but building the bridge in the cold, wet mud was rather spectacular (small picture). This year I took the 1916 Ernemann (Roadmouse: I "modified" the 9X12 Bob O to take 120 film) and the weather made it, ehhhrm, boring. So I bought some great cakes at Harrie-Jan Loeffen's and went home to overdevelop the RolleiRetro400 in Rodinal...

Walk of the world

40,000 Walkers, 1,400,000 visitors, more than 60 nations. Four days in my home town, Nijmegen.
1938 Kodak (Nagel) Duo 620 (Tessar 75mm, all 1/100 at F11, measured with the Nebro Visual (=optical) exposure meter);
pre-1970 Ilford Selochrome (160 ASA) in eternal Rodinal (1:50 11m.)

Gee-orgee-ow!

My (20+years) Sigma Mirror-Telephoto Multi-Coated 1:8 f=600mm is unforgiving. But when in focus, then it's remarkable! HP5 in Rodinal (yes!) 1:25
