The "Gebroeders van Limburg" festival in Nijmegen NL.
Mediaeval aesthetic in their, and my, home town...

I almost forgot: Analoog60 is about anphot, so:
1945 Elmar 90mm on the Frankenstein,
1990 Orwo in very old Pyro(gallic acid).

Pinhole Day 2015

The cameras, the films (+Fomapan200), the developers (+RO9), the results.
The honey&nutcake, the fun.

Stone-cold...

...but they don't mind the cold stones.
Every time I see these four (the smallest one is in the push-chair) they make me feel good. Active, friendly, playful.

Behind the 1974 МИР 65mm I had 1990 Orwo NP22

Checkpoint Charlie on ORWO

My NP22 ORWO of today was made when the Berlin wall was about to come down. At that time the new Wall in Nijmegen was built, and now that is crumbling! The problems are known for over six years and nothing has been done! Shame!

My 1973 Salyut is still watertight and shock proof.

Ensign 29 (4: after the war)

Shortly after the war photographic material was scarce, to say the least. But amateurs did want (need) to enjoy their hobby again, and the shop keepers had to earn a living. So old material was cut shorter (not 8 but 6 exposures), rolled again and sold under guarantee (Victor Latty, look below). In England import was restricted for a very long time, on the continent things were ehhhhrm different. The Americans didn't consider Leica worthwile, the shrewd Russians took Zeiss and Contax and converted them to "aus Jena" and Киев. The Americans wère in Bitterfeld, but left soon so the Russians also got Agfa Wolfen and made it ORWO. Kept working on that Agfa-colour system but that just wasn't the right way to go - C41 was better.

So Agfa Wolfen became Агфа Вольфен first, look at all the languages on the box - even "fabricacion alemana" (Spanish?) and selling, probably, old stock (6 iso 8) and, vèry weird: in this E29 size. For whom? I don't know of any Russian or German * 129 camera, and in the fifties? But I was very glad to be able to put them in my Ensign, compare them with contemporary HP3 ( Weston 125 ! became later ASA 400 of course) in the bakelite Soho (with that incredible depth-of-field, how did they manage thàt!)

*Yes, there was a very nice Welta Perle for 129 film around in the thirties! Welta became later VEB Pentacon...

(The mill left: "die Geismühle", look below. Right: "the Giant" in Ottersum.)

the Ensign 29 camera and film (2)

Because there is a lot of interest, not only from Germany: this is the 1930 Ensign 29 with that very rare < 1955 Agfa Wolfen film.
I will soon compare it with a contemporary Ilford HP3, and tell you a bit more about this interesting pre-Orwo

OMG!
Wie auch immer.
E29 also. Das ist ein Filmformat zwischen 127 und 120, wurde kurz nach'm Krieg hergestellt bei Agfa-Wolfen. Wo bitte? In der russischen Zone, ± 1955, wurde nachher Orwo. Was heisst exklusiv, Isopan N6.
Und noch ein Nussbecher bei Vecchio. "Hat's geschmeckt?"
Signorina: il gelato, il sole, e lei...

October Revolution

This october will have a slightly Russian flavour. Not entirely PC, but neither am I. In the bright sunlight I tested the KievTTL finder, filled with three 625's and some aluminum foil and it works perfectly.
The ±40 years old Orwo NP20 was a bit scratchy, the yellow filter was maybe not the right choise but who cared.

PS "some" means: make a little ball and push it in...

Three markets, three films

Nijmegen NL The market is all over the place and you can buy anything there: cheese, plants for your garden, shoes. Must be cheap, very cheap.

I had sixties Ilford HP3 (no date: test only) in the HB + Distagon 60mm.

Firenze I The San Lorenzo market is rather big, but very touristic: mostly bags, leather jackets and "stuff". But the Mercato Centrale is also there, for fresh meat and vegetables.

Canon F1, probably. (Kodak TriX?)

Düsseldorf BRD The market on the Carlsplatz looks very "dense", neat. But the food is first class quality ànd interesting, you'll be spoiled for choice.

1973 Orwo NP20 in the 1973 Zenit80

Frauenblicke

E The 1973 GDR Orwo in the 1973 (!) Zenit80 was a bit foggy, but had almost kept the 20 DIN.
(Hey - Din was West, or did they mean "Democratic Ind.Norm"?)

Otto
