Then and now 23
In the fifties/sixties, my school was nearby, we went to this viaduct to vanish in the steam of the locomotives, always nice. But make no mistake: Nijmegen was a modern city: we had those trolley-busses!
Now they run on natural gas. Yes, I know: it's better.
But where has the fun gone?

The joy from riding bikes in the sun without much other traffic and real people controlling the shunting of trains, those were the days!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWell - exactly there I was run over by a VW-bus, (got me a new bike), so much for the traffic...
BeantwoordenVerwijderenNice photograph. It seems that it was taken in the 3rd week of July. Of course I wasn't born yet in the sixties, but I can't imagine that there were always that many chairs on the pavement...
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOf course it's the 4days-marches, young friend - I couldn't find a "normal" picture of the viaduct (or steam-trains) in the archive!
